Arsenal's 17-year-old wonderkid Walcott ends up with a striker all over him during a kickabout down the park—but he doesn't mind one bit as the player in question is his stunning girlfriend Melanie Slade.

In fact Melanie, also 17, showed she's not just a pretty face by successfully tackling the young England star a couple of times.

"Theo looked a bit shocked that she managed to take the ball off him—but she was just giggling like mad," said an onlooker in Parliament Hill Fields in north London.

"They looked completely loved up, kissing and holding hands. They were laughing as he gave her a piggy-back."

Theo may have to be content starting on the bench at Arsenal — but, as our snaps show, he's in the first team with Mel.

THEO WALCOTT put Arsenal on the brink of the Champions League knockout stages.

The whizkid set up two late goals to sink Hamburg. And grateful Arsene Wenger said: “Theo made such a big difference when he came on.

"He gave us a real injection of power and speed when we needed it.”

Arsenal need just a point in the final Group G game in Porto to make the last 16.

But last season’s beaten finalists had to survive a shock fourth-minute goal by Rafael van der Vaart for the Germans.

Robin van Persie equalised just after half-time and it needed sub Walcott, 17, to set up strikes for Emmanuel Eboue and Julio Baptista to win it in the final seven minutes.

Wenger added: “Theo knows he can always affect the game — he has the physical ingredients when the game needs pace.

“I started him on the left but he didn’t get into the game. But as soon as he went to the right wing he immediately made a big difference.

“He has learned a lot already, he will continue to come on in games and if he matures every time he plays he will learn a lot.

"I’ve involved him a lot in the team already and I am watching him very closely.”

But Arsenal must face Porto on December 6 without skipper Thierry Henry who picked up his third Champions League booking and will be suspended.

Wenger said: “Thierry looked frustrated because he had been held back a few times.

“It’s a blow but we will go to Porto without him and I am confident we will make it through to the next round.”

Arsenal could crash out if they lose in Portugal and CSKA Moscow beat Hamburg.

But both Porto and Arsenal can go through with a draw — sparking fears of a carve-up to leave the Russians out in the cold.

Wenger smiled: “We will go to Portugal to win but if we draw then nobody will be disappointed.”

Arsenal star Theo has been dating Mel since before the World Cup where he became a household name, despite not playing a game.

Now Melanie is going to be the name on every fashionista’s lips. In the exclusive pictures for Arena, Mel reveals her pierced midriff and elegant butterfly tattoo on her hip.

She says: "I didn't really know what to expect. I'd never done anything like this before, but it was great. I was quite shocked at the results, I remember looking at the images as we were going along during the shoot and thinking 'This is all right', but when I saw the finished pictures I couldn't believe it.

"I had said no to everything I'd been offered up to now, but Arena just felt right. I'm really proud of it. And Theo loves the shots, too, though I'm sure he'll get some stick in the dressing room when it comes out..."

ARSENE WENGER says Theo Walcott should be in England’s next squad — even though the 17-year-old has started only three Premiership games for Arsenal.

Walcott went to the World Cup on Wenger’s recommendation without having played for the Gunners’ first team following his £12million move from Southampton.

That decision was heavily criticised and Walcott did not kick a ball in anger in Germany.

But Wenger says the youngster is ready for England’s next game — a friendly against Spain at Old Trafford in February.

The Emirates chief said: “I must say Theo will be a candidate for England now.

“He is ready to handle it. He has the personality and he is intelligent.

“He will play more and more for us.

“It is an insult to Steve McClaren to say I should tell him about Theo because he has worked with him for a while.

“I got a lot of stick because I was supposedly responsible for ruining England at the World Cup by saying he should go — and now people are saying he is good.

“I feel 2007 is a big year for Theo. He has made big steps forward.”

Melanie Slade said she was 'snubbed' by Coleen McLoughlin

Coleen McLoughlin snubbed Melanie Slade when the Wags met at the World Cup in Germany, the youngster has revealed in an interview with Reveal magazine.

Slade, 18, girlfriend of Arsenal star Theo Walcott, said most of the players' wives and girlfriends were lovely to her but Coleen didn't speak to her.

The teenager, catapulted into the limelight last year when Walcott was picked for England, praised Victoria Beckham after meeting her while the squad prepared for the World Cup in Portugal.

"David Beckham texted Theo and asked us over to the apartment they were renting," she said. "The first thing I thought was 'Oh no, What am I going to wear?' I'd hardly anything with me, as I'd packed in a real rush - I ended up going round there in a top and shorts from Primark."

She said: "Victoria was lovely - I think a lot of pictures you see of her looking grumpy is put on for the cameras.

"I also think she's a great mum. When I was with her, Brooklyn and Romeo would always come running to Victoria if they needed anything. She adores them and they love her.

"She'd been sunbathing and came to meet me in a dressing gown. She was really nice and gave me some advice on privacy. She also gave me a couple of pairs of her jeans and some tops, which I thought was really kind of her. I nearly lost them, though, because when I flew back to the UK, I left them on the plane."

But the A-level student said that when she met the other Wags in Germany during the World Cup itself, Wayne Rooney's 20-year-old girlfriend ignored her.

She said: "They all seemed really nice. Frank Lampard's girlfriend, Elen Rives, is a scream - she's so funny and loud, and was such a laugh."

But she added: "Coleen didn't really speak to me - I was a bit surprised by that, as I thought she'd be really friendly as she's a similar age."
